Here at Tive, we recognize that data is king. Ultimately, the core value that we add to our customers is access to new sources of data, and the real-time action and analysis that those data enable. As such, we are always thinking about new ways to make our data useful to our customers. Today, we are announcing Webhooks: a new feature in our software platform that helps managers make the most of the supply chain data Tive provides.

Webhooks make it possible for our customers to receive tracker and shipment data directly to their existing data or communication systems, be it Slack, Microsoft Teams, or an internal platform. Many of our customers already use messaging systems like Slack for their internal communication. Webhooks enable them to receive key information -- such as a shipment arriving or experiencing damage -- in real time, directly in a team Slack channel. Tive has always supported text and email based alert notifications, but with Webhooks, you can now receive data from Tive anywhere, on any platform. Tive’s Webhooks feature makes it possible to integrate both alert data streams and complete tracker data streams into your internal systems.

Alert Webhooks

Webhooks applied to alerts provide easy access to alert notifications, such as geofences, shock events, or temperature excursions. For example, a company shipping pharmaceutical products might connect a Webhook to a temperature threshold alert in order to receive immediate notifications in their internal system if a temperature excursion occurs. Similarly, a manager might configure a Webhook to send geofence notifications directly to a team Slack channel, so everyone is on the same page and can react in real time.

Tracker Data Stream Webhooks

Sometimes, you don’t just want notifications when an Alert Profile is triggered. Instead, you may want access to a complete data stream from some or all of a tracker’s sensors. If you’re interested in collecting an entire tracker data stream in your internal system -- be it to conduct your own analyses, or simply to monitor the data in real time -- a data stream Webhook is the way to go. For example, you can configure a Webhook to send a complete data stream of a shipment’s temperature and location directly to your team’s Slack channel, enabling seamless real-time awareness of the information you care about.

A Big Data Future

Big Data is the future of supply chain visibility, and the addition of Webhooks to the Tive platform is key to making sure our customers get the most out of that data. As we continue to improve our integrated visibility solution, let us know if there are other features and tools that you would like to see.

What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
